Lydia R. Pittaway
Liability Division
Lydia Pittaway joined Bradham Benson in 2010 and serves in the liability division of the firm in the Fort Lauderdale office. Lydia gained extensive experience in criminal defense and trial practice while working with the Office of the Public Defender in the 19th Judicial Circuit and also as a solo law practitioner in Fort Pierce, Florida where she defended individuals throughout the state. Lydia has trial experience in county, circuit, and federal courts. She is admitted to the Florida Bar, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Lydia received a bachelor’s degree in political science, with honors, from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. After moving to North Florida , she worked in a personal injury firm before attending law school. In 2007, she graduated from Florida Coastal Law School with honors. During her educational career Lydia enjoyed studying abroad, first in Dubrovnik, Croatia, and then in Berlin, Germany. While abroad, she traveled throughout Europe and the Asian Peninsula. It was during her various internships and foreign study programs that she gained valuable experience in comparative law and multi-disciplinary administrative investigations. Now she often utilizes these experiences to develop creative alternative resolutions for the difficult and complex issues faced by her clients.
In her spare time Lydia enjoys watching European club soccer, running trails in state parks, and spending time with her chocolate Labrador. She also continues to work on her Spanish and German language skills.
